Cuddy, in an attempt to manipulate House, tells him to pick Taub because Taub will stand up to him and that's what he needs. In the Season 7 episode Small Sacrifices Taub discovers that his wife has a close friendship with a man she met in an online support group for people with unfaithful spouses.
